<br /> PUB L I C NOT ICE <br /> ------ ------ <br /> o F <br /> SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 1989 <br /> PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That at a special <br />municipal election to be held at the polling places and precincts <br />designated below, in the city of Louisville, Colorado, on Tuesday, <br />March 21, 1989, between 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. of said day, there <br />will be submitted to the registered electors of the City the <br />following question: <br />QUESTION (An ordinance concerning the City sales and use tax): <br /> "Shall Ordinance No. 981, Series 1989, of the <br /> City of Louisville, Colorado, adopted on <br /> February 7, 1989, which ordinance provides <br /> for: ( i) an increase in the rate of the City <br /> sales tax from 2% to 3%, such increase to be <br /> in effect from July 1, 1989, ( ii) a pledge of <br /> one-third of the revenues generated by the 3% <br /> sales tax to a capital improvement fund to be <br /> used solely for the purpose of providing <br /> capital improvements or to pay debt service on <br /> bonds or other obligations issued to provide <br /> such capital improvements, and (iii) the <br /> imposition of a 3% use tax on the privilege of <br /> using or consuming commercial construction and <br /> building materials purchased at retail and <br /> storing, using, or consuming motor and other <br /> vehicles purchased at retail, such use tax to <br /> be in effect from July 1, 1989, all as is more <br /> particularly set forth in such ordinance, be <br /> approved?" <br /> There shall be three (3) election precincts for voting <br />at the special municipal election, the boundaries of which shall <br />coincide with the boundaries of the three wards of the City, as <br />established by Chapter 1.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code. <br />Copies of Chapter 1.20, and maps of the precincts are available at <br />the office of the City Clerk, in the City Hall, 749 Main Street, <br />in Louisville, Colorado. <br /> - 6 - <br />
