PUB L I C NOT ICE ------ ------ o F SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 1989 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That at a special municipal election to be held at the polling places and precincts designated below, in the city of Louisville, Colorado, on Tuesday, March 21, 1989, between 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. of said day, there will be submitted to the registered electors of the City the following question: QUESTION (An ordinance concerning the City sales and use tax): "Shall Ordinance No. 981, Series 1989, of the City of Louisville, Colorado, adopted on February 7, 1989, which ordinance provides for: ( i) an increase in the rate of the City sales tax from 2% to 3%, such increase to be in effect from July 1, 1989, ( ii) a pledge of one-third of the revenues generated by the 3% sales tax to a capital improvement fund to be used solely for the purpose of providing capital improvements or to pay debt service on bonds or other obligations issued to provide such capital improvements, and (iii) the imposition of a 3% use tax on the privilege of using or consuming commercial construction and building materials purchased at retail and storing, using, or consuming motor and other vehicles purchased at retail, such use tax to be in effect from July 1, 1989, all as is more particularly set forth in such ordinance, be approved?" There shall be three (3) election precincts for voting at the special municipal election, the boundaries of which shall coincide with the boundaries of the three wards of the City, as established by Chapter 1.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code. Copies of Chapter 1.20, and maps of the precincts are available at the office of the City Clerk, in the City Hall, 749 Main Street, in Louisville, Colorado. - 6 -
