<br /> .",., <br />Davidson: When we are talking about an endorsement from the <br /> Chamber and the city does that mean when we go <br /> through this process that would be the only way to <br /> get an endorsement of the Chamber and the city, or <br /> the Chamber or the city? <br />Sackett: The Chamber and the City. <br />Carnival: We use the Finance Committee when there is some <br /> type of funding requests. I think when an <br /> individual, company or whomever, approaches <br /> Council and we feel that it needs to be refined or <br /> needs to go through this process then we can <br /> suggest that it does. I think we have the control <br /> whether this board is in place or not. <br />Hornbostel: I don't see this group of people in the same <br /> capacity as the Finance Committee. This is an arm <br /> of the Chamber, but I think you are giving quasi <br /> powers to a group of people that are not appointed <br /> by us. <br />Mayor Fauson: The way this came about is that Councilman <br /> Davidson and Councilman Howard visited with the <br /> Chamber and asked that some type of process be put <br /> in place. <br />Davidson: I think this is a good idea. Now that you have <br /> come back with it and are asking for us to approve <br /> it I am concerned with the fine points. I wonder <br /> if you need to define it a little better. <br />Mayor Fauson: Suggested that the committee go back and define <br /> the purpose of the committee and bring it back to <br /> Council again. <br />Sackett: We can state that this is a tool available to both <br /> citizens and City Council and would be used as <br /> such and is not intended to be a sub-committee of <br /> the city. <br />Carnival: I suggest that we vote on the motion. <br />Howard: Three council members are on this committee. Does <br /> that mean that all meetings have to be public and <br /> all meetings have to be posted in advance? <br />Mayor Fauson: I would think so. <br />Eugene Caranci, Executive Director for the Louisville Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br />Caranci: Several weeks back we were approached by the city <br /> Administrator to see if a member of our <br /> development commission could meet with two council <br />
