.",., Davidson: When we are talking about an endorsement from the Chamber and the city does that mean when we go through this process that would be the only way to get an endorsement of the Chamber and the city, or the Chamber or the city? Sackett: The Chamber and the City. Carnival: We use the Finance Committee when there is some type of funding requests. I think when an individual, company or whomever, approaches Council and we feel that it needs to be refined or needs to go through this process then we can suggest that it does. I think we have the control whether this board is in place or not. Hornbostel: I don't see this group of people in the same capacity as the Finance Committee. This is an arm of the Chamber, but I think you are giving quasi powers to a group of people that are not appointed by us. Mayor Fauson: The way this came about is that Councilman Davidson and Councilman Howard visited with the Chamber and asked that some type of process be put in place. Davidson: I think this is a good idea. Now that you have come back with it and are asking for us to approve it I am concerned with the fine points. I wonder if you need to define it a little better. Mayor Fauson: Suggested that the committee go back and define the purpose of the committee and bring it back to Council again. Sackett: We can state that this is a tool available to both citizens and City Council and would be used as such and is not intended to be a sub-committee of the city. Carnival: I suggest that we vote on the motion. Howard: Three council members are on this committee. Does that mean that all meetings have to be public and all meetings have to be posted in advance?
