...,
would get that information to us.
Tanoue: I did receive a copy of materials that Mayor
Fauson just handed me, but I do not see a
copy of the original agreement and so before
I can respond to any question I would
appreciate it if the Chamber would give me a
copy of the agreement.
Mayor Fauson: Maybe at the next work session we could visit
with the members of the Chamber about this
agreement. Also the LDC was the Louisville
Development Corporation and was formed at the
time that Centennial Valley was in the
process of putting in the large shopping
mall. LDC was afraid that the downtown area
would suffer with the large shopping farther
outside of the city. Developers at that time
gave the city $1,000 to help the downtown
and revitalization and LDC was formed at
that time to distribute the money. Several
businesses received some of that money to
improve the interior and exterior of their
buildings. The LDC is no longer in exist-
ence and I'm not sure what happened to the
rest of the money.
Hornbostel: Thanked the Chamber for coming in and
responding to her request.
Carnival: Congratulated the Chamber for all of their
efforts. As I look through the proposal that
I have on the goals and objectives addressed
by Mr. Bortz, as far as I am concerned, I
disagree with Mr. Bortz and Mr. Varra because
I feel that you are doing a wonderful job. I
think you have maintained all of the goals
and objectives throughout the five years
since this agreement was implemented. As we
look around the city we can see all of the
things that these gentlemen refer to as being
Economic Development. I think it is good
that you look at it as not being fully com-
plete yet. Suggestion was that the Council
work a little closer with the Chamber so they
can be updated.
Howard: Asked if Brand would give him some kind of
report on the in-kind support that the Cham-
ber receives from the City in addition to the
monies.
Mayor Fauson: Stated he looks forward to having a work
session with the Chamber in the near future.
3
