.."
DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - PROPOSAL CONCERNING PURCHASE OF COAL CREEK
CEMETERY
Baysinger: Representatives of the Coal Creek Cemetery
have approached the City of Louisville
regarding the City's interest in purchasing
the Coal Creek Cemetery. The purchase was
discussed at the March 28th Cemetery Board
meeting. Representatives of the Coal Creek
Cemetery have expressed that they have a
"first right of refusal" clause in their
ownership giving the City of Louisville the
first opportunity to purchase the property
should the initial owners sell the property.
At this point it has been expressed to City
staff that the ownership does have other
parties interested in purchasing the
cemetery. The ownership wishes to bring this
matter to Council to assess the City's
interest in purchasing the property and
exercising the "first right of refusal"
clause.
Council felt this was something that needed to be discussed in
detail and felt this item should be addressed at a work session.
APPROVAL OF FINAL DESIGN CRITERIA - MCCASLIN BLVD. FROM VIA APPIA
TO ALDER STREET
Phare: This project is part of an overall
development improvement being undertaken by
Homart through their master development
agreement. In evaluating all factors the
Public Works Department prefers that the
first option for access be the frontage drive
west of the existing power poles. If this is
not possible then the right in right out
access should be considered next. Given the
cost and location of the frontage drive east
of the power pole it is not recommended.
Larry Farnsworth, 419 South 80th, Boulder, Co.
Robert w. O'Brien, 445 South 80th, Boulder, Co.
Bob McCartney 395 South 80th, Boulder, Co.
Marvin Larson 321 South 80th, Boulder, Co.
All spoke against this proposal.
Council asked if Phare would contact Boulder County to see if
they would help pay for the improvements to the frontage road.
Also Council was concerned about the wells that this project
would affect.
Carnival moved to direct public works to implement construction
of McCaslin Blvd. from Via Appia to Alder Street as specified in
5
