have.
Klein: The property owner isn't necessarily a
concerned party in the 502 statute. That is
between the municipality and the fire
district.
Carnival: It's sure going to help this particular case.
If the new property owners don't have the same
ability to go through this process I think
that is wrong. I think they should be able to
do the 501 as well as the 502, if it takes
that to get what they are trying to
accomplish.
Brand: The dark blue line is what our planning
department sees as our planning area where we
have the ability to annex in the future.
There is not much left and Cherryvale would
not contest these areas that are now in
Cherryvale, but then would be in the City
limits of Louisville. We need to file
with the District Court in August or early
September in order to get this accomplished by
the first of the year.
Sackett: I like the idea that we are trying to give the
Cherryvale Fire District an idea of what we
think should be involved in the City of
Louisville. Whether or not Cherryvale or
Louisville Fire District provides the service,
as long they're equal probably doesn't matter.
So this is an attempt to maintain the tax
base. I have a couple of concerns; I don't
know how to predict the future so I am a
little nervous about either party being able
to extend it beyond 2001. You could probably
18
