NONE <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayer congratulated all the individuals involved in the annual Parade of Light celebration for their <br />contributions to the event. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 64, SERIES 1998 - AMENDMENT OF THE 1998 BUDGET FOR <br />YEAR-END PROJECTIONS - Public Hearing (published Louisville Times 12/12/98) <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Dianne Ray, Finance Director, stated that this is a request for a supplemental appropriation in the <br />1998 budget. The Cemetery, Golf Course and Self-Insurance Funds are all projected to exceed the <br />appropriations for 1998. The Cemetery Fund is higher by $4,100 due to the interest income being <br />transferred to the General Fund. The Golf Course has incurred additional expenses over budget of <br />$145,000 for costs of goods sold, plus an additional seven percent over budget for operating costs. <br />The gross revenue from the golf course is expected to exceed the budget by $197,622. The Self- <br />Insurance Fund claims are projected to be over the 1998 budget by $85,000. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and called for anyone wishing to speak on Resolution No. 64, <br />Series 1998 - Amendment of the 1998 Budget for Year-End Projections. <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments and questions. <br /> <br />Mayer moved that Council approve Resolution No. 64, Series 1998 - Amendment of the 1998 <br />Budget for Year-End Projections, seconded by Howard. Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 7-0 <br />vote. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO ENGAGE UNITED HEALTHCARE INSURANCE TO <br />REPLACE THE CITY'S SELF-INSURANCE PLAN EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1999 <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Chuck King, Human Resources Director, stated that due to continued increased costs associated with <br />the City' s self-insured health plan, proposals were solicited from several private providers.
