Ô·¾®¿®§ Þ±¿®¼ ±º Ì®«­¬»»­ <br />Ó·²«¬»­ <br />Ú»¾®«¿®§ îìô îðïð <br />п¹» î ±º ì <br />The Board briefly discussed their individual outreach efforts and offered to assist in <br />providing educational information to the Superior citizen’s committee thatwill <br />spearhead the outreach efforts. <br />ÞòÓ»»¬·²¹ α±³ б´·½§æ ²±²ó®»­·¼»²¬ º»»­ <br />The Board reviewedthe new section of the policy, “Room Reservation Fee,” and <br />recommended and approved one modification. The Board then unanimously adopted the <br />revised policy with the approved modification.The meeting room policy now requires <br />anyone who is not a resident of either Louisville or Superior to pay $25/hour for use of <br />the Library’s two meeting rooms. <br />ÝòË°¼¿¬» ±² Þ±¿®¼ ß½¬·ª·¬·»­ º±® îðïð <br />Children’s Services <br />Alicia provided a summary of her February 10 meeting with Children’s Services <br />Supervisor, Denise Brooks.Themeeting focused on outreach to local schools. In <br />conclusion, the schools and the Library have similar and complementary objectives in <br />the area of literacy. However,Alica and Denise agree that there are moreopportunities <br />for collaboration and partnerhipwith schools, which would include school library staff <br />and also teachers and principals. Denise and Alicia will explore this further in an effort <br />to determine the best way to increase or enhance programs and services to school <br />populations. <br />One Book <br />Due tobudget constraints in 2010, bothLouisville andLafayette are unable to <br />implement a One Book program this year. However, Beth suggested that planning for <br />next year would be useful. <br />After a brief discussion about possible sources of materials and grant funding, Eileen <br />volunteered to contact Denver Public Library about what they do with their program <br />books. No one was aware of any sources of funding for this type of program. <br />Historical Museum <br />Beth reported on two upcoming Library programs that are being prepared in conjunction <br />with Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator. One will be a workshop on how to landmark a <br />historical residence. The other will focus on Rocky Flats and its influence on the history <br />of Boulder County. Beth also noted that there are plans to put up some historical <br />displays in the Library. A larger project will involve digitizing and cataloging the <br />Museum’s collection of historic photos. Beth is working on a grant to fund this project. <br />National Library Week <br />The Board agreed that they would participate in the patron reception on Saturday, 17 <br />April, but they would also like to organize a staff appreciation event to be held during <br />NLW.
