3. Open space will preserve and promote cultural resources, agriculture, <br />and scenic vistas, and provide a separation between adjacent <br />municipalities. <br />4. Open space will provide appropriate opportunities for passive <br />recreational activities in addition to resource conservation, <br />5. The management of open space will be consistent with sound <br />ecological principles and will promote conservation of native plants, <br />wildlife, and their habitats. <br />6. The City will collaborate with the county, adjacent municipalities, the <br />private sector, and other agencies and non - profits to purchase, <br />preserve and enhance open space. <br />Community Character and Urban Design <br />1. Attractive gateways and signage will define the major entries to <br />Louisville. <br />2. Urban design standards will promote community identity, <br />sustainability, social interaction, and civic pride. <br />3. The design and maintenance of our public spaces, streets, trails, and <br />landscaped areas will enhance the unique identity of Louisville <br />4. Continue to implement the Commercial and Industrial Design <br />Standards and Guidelines OR Continue to implement adopted design <br />standards and guidelines, and develop new design standards as <br />needed. <br />Public Facilities and Utilities <br />1. Provide adequate public facilities, water, sewer, and related services <br />to meet the demand of existing and future residents and commercial <br />and industrial growth. <br />• Policy: Water supply <br />2.
