City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> May 18, 2010 <br /> Page 4 of 13 <br /> The City Council met in a special meeting on Tuesday, May 11 to interview applicants <br /> for vacancies on the new Golf Course Advisory Board (GCAB). Seven seats are <br /> available on the Board and the initial terms are staggered. The following appointments <br /> to the Golf Course Advisory Board were made: <br /> Tom Deany 1 -year term (May 2010 December 2011) <br /> Sandy Stewart 1 -year term (May 2010 December 2011) <br /> Lisa Norgard 2 -year term (May 2010 December 2012) <br /> Rob Lathrop 2 -year term (May 2010 December 2012) <br /> Ken Gambon 3 -year term (May 2010 December 2013) <br /> Perry Nelson 3 -year term (May 2010 December 2013) <br /> Cary Tengler 3 -year term (May 2010 December 2013) <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Stevens announced the first organizational meeting of <br /> the Golf Course Advisory Board will be June 7, 2010. <br /> Councilor Dalton arrived at the meeting at 7:15 p.m. <br /> AWARD BID TO ASPHALT SPECIALTIES COMPANY FOR THE STATE HIGHWAY <br /> 42 SOUTH BOULDER ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Public Works Director Phare explained Staff is recommending a bid award for the State <br /> Highway 42 /South Boulder Road Intersection Project. Federal Funding was received <br /> for safety improvements at the intersection. The Project includes the reconstruction and <br /> rehabilitation of South Boulder Road and State Highway 42 along with adding new left- <br /> turn lanes at the intersection and an additional through lane on Highway 42 in each <br /> direction of the intersection. The construction will also include a new traffic signal, <br /> storm drain improvements and new sidewalks adjacent to Union Jack on Highway 42 <br /> and along each side of Highway 42 north of South Boulder Road. The Colorado <br /> Department of Transportation (CDOT) must concur with the awarding of the bid. <br /> Four bids were received for the State Highway 42 /South Boulder Road Intersection <br /> Project. Staff recommended Council award the State Highway 42 South Boulder Road <br /> Project to Asphalt Specialties Company per their unit price of $1,510,989.92 concurrent <br /> with CDOT's approving the awarding of the project to Asphalt Specialties Company; <br /> approve $24,000 in contingencies and authorize the Mayor, Public Works Director and <br /> City Clerk to execute the contract documents on behalf of the City. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilor Muckle asked if there will be a pedestrian /bicycle trail connection.
