City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> June 1, 2010 <br /> Page 10 of 10 <br /> affordable housing. He requested Council reconsideration of the condition for 14% of <br /> the affiliate's portion of the appreciation. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Marsella explained the property would be very expensive for the City to <br /> develop. She stated the project meets all the goals set by the Louisville Housing <br /> Authority and urged Council to support the project. She supported reconsideration of <br /> the condition for 14% of the affiliate's portion of the appreciation. <br /> Councilor Muckle and Mayor Sisk concurred with Mayor Pro Tem Marsella. Mayor Sisk <br /> inquired about the LEED certification. Economic Development Director Star explained <br /> the objective is LEED certifiable. <br /> Bob Wettergren, FHFH Construction Manager, explained they recently started a LEED <br /> program for their affiliates. Grants are being sought from the US Green Building <br /> Association and a LEED Student Program has been established, where students work <br /> 35 hours for the affiliates. The homes constructed are LEED certifiable and will be of <br /> high quality green building materials. <br /> MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Marsella moved to approve Resolution No. 34, Series 2010, <br /> with the deletion of 1C of the covenant to remove the 14% of the affiliate's portion of the <br /> appreciation condition, seconded by Councilor Sackett. Roll call vote was taken. The <br /> motion carried by a vote of 7 -0. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> No items to report. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> No items to report. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> MOTION: Councilor Dalton moved for adjournment, seconded by Councilor Sackett.
