South Boulder Road was replaced with a sign of similar size. The 150 sf illuminated wall sign facing US
36 was also replaced with a sign of similar size. He stated that they did apply for a temporary use permit
and assumed it was granted because they did not hear anything to the contrary.

Davidson asked Wood for the difference in square footage between the signage approved on the PUD and
the signage being requested.

Wood replied that 'an EDS Company' is not part of the wall sign. There was a small monument sign at
the east entrance of the building, however, he could not remember its size. He stated he did not believe it
was 32-square feet.

Davidson stated that the 'an EDS Company' below the wall sign appears to expand the square footage of
the sign.

Wood replied that he did not believe Centrobe was requesting to add 'an EDS Company' to the wall sign,
only to the monument sign.

Davidson asked Wood to supply the total square footage previously approved for signage compared to the
amount being requested. He expressed approval for changing the sign but keeping the total square footage
the same. Davidson called for a five-minute recess to allow Wood to obtain the requested information.

Davidson called the meeting back to order.

Wood reported that the original approvals reflect a sign of approximately 20-square feet on the wall at the
east visitor entrance. The difference between the original approval and the 1997 amendment from the
current request is approximately 12-15 square feet of additional signage.

Howard asked Johnston whether Centrobe accepted the five conditions of approval from the Planning
Commission.

Johnston replied the only condition they do not agree with is the condition that changes the sign material
and recessing the panel into the sign so that it becomes flush.

Howard asked Johnston whether Centrobe would agree to decrease the total signage square footage to
comply with earlier approvals.
Johnston replied that the size for the south elevation illuminated sign is due to its sight from US 36. He
stated that they feel anything smaller than five feet would be difficult to read from US 36. The monument
sign was designed with the CDDSG in mind, to make it visible above the landscaped median. He stated
that he felt Centrobe could work within the square footage amounts previously approved.

Lathrop stated that he has reviewed the proposed sign materials and believes they would be quite durable.
He believes the monument sign is a reasonable request.

Johnston encouraged Council to approve the signs as presented.

7
