Coleman replied that it does, but only on one side. He stated that the Louisville Rite Aid
is not their typical prototype store and admitted that the 'pharmacy' sign was an
oversight.

Sisk questioned why Rite Aid was requesting two 'pharmacy' signs when many of their
other stores only contain one.

Levihn agreed with Lathrop that this appears to be an oversight.

Howard asked Wood if the total sign package being requested is less than the previously
approved square footage.

Wood replied that he felt it would be more correct to state that the signs that have been
installed are in accordance with the approved PUD. The total square footage approved for
the building is less than what is authorized under the Commercial Development Design
Standards and Guidelines, but not less than what the PUD approved.

Howard stated that this would mean the new sign package does not meet what was
approved on the PUD.

Wood replied that the proposed sign package is two signs plus a monument sign beyond
what the PUD approved. The signs currently on the building are in compliance with the
PUD.

Howard asked for the size of the directional monument sign.

Wood replied that the sign is approximately 4 sf, situated on a pedestal with an overall
height of three-and-a-half feet.

Mayer moved that Council approve Resolution No. 4, Series 1999 - An Amended Final
PUD Development Plan for a Modified Sign Program for Rite Aid, Lot 2,Centennial
Valley, Parcel L1, Replat with the following amendments:

1. That the drive-through pharmacy directional sign at the northwest
comer of the site be eliminated;
2. That the drive-through pharmacy canopy light shielding detail be
added to the Amended Final PUD Plans;
3. That the 'pharmacy' signs be deleted.

Motion failed for lack of a second.

Lathrop moved that Council approve Resolution No. 4, Series 1999 - An Amended Final
PUD Development Plan for a Modified Sign Program for Rite Aid, Lot 2,Centennial
Valley, Parcel L1, Replat, allowing the word 'pharmacy' to be added to the existing Rite
Aid. sign, approving the directional signs as requested, and that the drive-through

11
