HistoricalCommission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 17, 2010 <br />Louisville Public Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />6:30 p.m. <br />I.Call to Order <br />: Commission Chair Dan Mellish called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />II.Roll Call: <br />Commission Members Present <br />:Dan Mellish,Diane Marino, Sean Moynihan, Pat Seader, <br />Sally Burlingame, Anne Robinson,Colleen Vandendriessche, Brian Chamberlin,Lynn Koglin <br />Commission Members Absent: <br />Jennifer Strand, Dave Ferguson, Don Ross,Dustin Sagrillo <br />City Representatives Present: <br />Beth Barrett, Directory of Library & Museum Services <br />Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Bob Muckle, City Council <br />Members of the Public Present: <br />Kendall Webster, Youth Advisory Board <br />Jean Morgan <br />III.Approval of Agenda: <br />Members approved the agenda. <br />IV.Minutes for October 20: <br />Minutes will be approved at the next meeting. <br />V.Treasurer’s Report: <br />The Treasurer’s Report was discussed, but the Treasurer was absent. <br />The report for October will be presentedat the next meeting. <br />VI.Report from the Director of Library and Museum Services:Beth Barrett <br />Beth reported that the budget was voted on by City Council. The requests for Historical <br />Museum capital projects are moving forward. <br />Beth addressed the need for monitoring humidity levels in the Jacoe Store basement. The City <br />Facilities Managerwill be consulted and can supply a deviceto measure fluctuations in the <br />levels. A decision about a dehumidifier could be made after we have more information about <br />the humidity levels. <br />Colleen Vandendriessche suggested that the Jacoe Store be tested for radon, given the dirt <br />areas in the basement. <br />An RFP went out for a fire detection system for the Museum.The City is looking for a system <br />that will be minimally invasive to maintain the integrity of the structures, but may involve drilling. <br />Starting next year,Bridget Bacon will coordinate a “Brown Bag” series at the Libraryon a <br />weekdayfor those interested in Louisville history. <br />Beth reported that she has looked into applying for a grant in order to use the Jefferson Place <br />historical surveyproject to connect with images and oral histories, making available all <br />City of Louisville <br />Louisville Historical Museum <br />749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027 <br />303-665-9048 (phone) 303-335-4550 (fax) www.louisvilleco.gov <br /> <br />
