<br />Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />DATE <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report <br /> <br />Sandra Lilja our new treasurer is reviewing the operating budgets for 2006 and <br />2007. <br /> <br />Sandra recommended that all board members qive the Treasurer receilJts of $50 <br />or more. This is a recommendation bv the IRS. <br /> <br />Sandra also recommended that we do 1 099s for all artists that we pay over $500 <br />for events in 2007. Kathy Martin will check with the city to see how they handle <br />their contract employees. <br /> <br />Wendv recommended that all board members be allowed to delJosit door <br />IJroceeds from events directlv into our checkinq account. <br /> <br />City Staff Update <br /> <br />Julie Seydel brought the events calendar for the Arts Center for 2007. We <br />discussed making sure that dates for all our events are on the calendar. Julie will <br />be inviting a member of the group to attend a meeting to discuss all calendar <br />Issues. <br /> <br />Events Schedule Update <br /> <br />November 11 is poetry night that Don is coordinating. <br /> <br />Proposed New Louisville Arts Center <br /> <br />Don reviewed the draft of the positive economic impact of the arts in Front Range <br />Colorado. See attached. <br /> <br />Wendy is going to write a letter to the council asking them when we will be invited <br />to attend a council meeting. <br /> <br />Sponsorship <br /> <br />Maryan reported that Sam's Club will give a gift certificate for $25 for some <br />events. Cosco will also give money. <br /> <br />Kathy reported on her conversation with the Downtown Business Association. <br />They invited the council to their next meeting on November 1, 2006 at the Old <br />Louisville Inn at 8:00 a.m. We are going to look at ways we can work together to <br />promote Louisville and each of our activities. They are going to have carriage <br />rides from the middle of November through December for the public. Kathy also <br />tried calling the Louisville Times to meet with them about publicity. <br />
