Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board <br />October 2, 2024 <br />Page 7 of 12 <br />• Big -picture plan for all amenities (Parks, rec, open space, golf, etc.) for the <br />next 10 years <br />o Overdue as the last one was in 2012 <br />• RFP will be published for consultants (RFP draft included in packet) <br />• Due October 15th <br />• Variety of formats for public input <br />o On current and future needs <br />o Open Houses, discuss with advisory board - cycle of this over a few <br />times <br />• 12 - 18 month process w/consultant support <br />o Plan adoption targeting Q1 by Louisville City Council <br />• 2012: public noted that some departments received more attention than <br />others <br />o Division -by -division approach for attention across departments <br />o Budget amendments for trail -specific master plan <br />o Cottonwood/Lake Park + trails plan would be add -alternates for <br />separate budgets from LRP <br />■ Different expertise and teams looking at these various plans <br />but hoping for some cross -over <br />• Right now, structured that these can be given proposals <br />for individually (exception is the Trails plan) <br />• Ask for the bidding to outline costs for each project <br />Board Input: <br />• City Comprehensive plan on track for summer of next year <br />o Can leverage background from this extensive Comp planning and <br />public input <br />• Can frame RFP with timeline or calendar based on scope <br />• Does the division by division approach make sense? Is it confusing or need <br />more explanation? Staff Feedback: Yes, the approach is supported. <br />• PPLAB Feedback: Under 1.3 - look at commonalities across divisions (e.g. <br />mental health), include statement for Parks month into RFP, how can we <br />weave the story together across divisions to unite the City?
