IRRIGATION NOTES
1. The irrigation system is designed to operate off the existing system in place.
Contractor to verify pressure PRIOR TO INSTALLATION and notify Owner of
reading in writing prior to construction. Design pressure at heads to be as noted
in legend. Adjust pressure at valves. Contractor to notify owner if source
pressure can be reduced, and by how much.
2. No irrigation work to begin until final grade has been approved.
3. Locate all spray heads 6" min. from any wall, walk, curb, or building. Locate all
rotary heads 12" minimum from any wall, walk, or curb.
4. Do not stack pipes. Pipes in shared trenches to be 4" minimum apart.
5. Brand all appropriate box lids with 1" minimum letters (per specifications) with
the following abbreviations:
SV# Section Valve & Corresponding Controller Station #
ISO Isolation Gate Valve
QC Quick Coupler
WS Wire Splice
FP Drip Flush Point
a.The Contractor shall schedule an irrigation specific pre -construction meeting
with the OAC team which shall commence prior to starting any irrigation
construction. Provide a minimum of 48 hours notice for meeting.
b.Provide Owner with written documentation of existing pressure prior to
construction.
14. Provide red zone wires, white common wires, and (4) blue spare wires for the
entire length of all mainline segments. Wire material to be per specifications.
15. Provide new sleeving for all mainline and wires where new walls cross over
mainline. Cut sleeving pipe lengthwise, place around mainline/wires and duct
tape to secure at both ends and every 36" between ends. Extend both ends of all
sleeves 18" beyond walls. Sleeving pipe to be 2 pipe sizes larger than pipe
passing through sleeve, and provide separate 4" sleeve for all wire sleeves.
16. Remove all existing heads, valves, and boxes. Fill al holes. Protect all existing
mainline, wires and controllers for reuse.
17. Install all new valves on existing mainlines and use existing wires. Field verify
size and location of existing mainlines and wires.
18. Al sprinklers in areas of native seed shall be 12" pop-up height.
6. Al pipe under pavement to be sleeved in 4" minimum PVC class 200 and extendl9,
18" beyond each edge of pavement, sloped to dram. Al sleeves shall be
minimum 2 pipe sizes larger than the pipe passing through them. Install all
sleeving prior to paving. Sleeve wires separately in 4" class 200 PVC. Bore
under existing pavement for new sleeves, unless otherwise indicated on the
plans.
7. Heads are diagrammatic. Contractor to select and install correct arcs as needed
for part circle heads. Adjust radii and arc as necessary for no
overspray/backwash onto adjacent concrete sidewalks or surfaces, buildings,
walls, or fences.
8. Electric power to the controller shall be provided by Contractor.
9. Al damage to existing irrigation system due to construction shall be to original
condition at no additional cost to owner. Al repairs shall be complete prior to
system startup.
10. Plan has been prepared using limited on -site observation. Plan is diagrammatic
and does not reflect all equipment, etc., that could be encountered during
construction. All tie locations, mainline locations and lateral locations are
approximate and shall require exact location by Contractor.
11. Water settle all trenches for proper compaction.
12. Paint location of the mainline and laterals, and flag location of all heads & valves
for approval by Owner prior to any trenching.
13.
