Louisville Resource Conservation Advisory Board (LRCAB)/Building Code <br />Board of Appeals - the LRCAB and the Board of Appeals discussed with City Council <br />the issue of a Green Building Code and methods for implementation. <br /> <br />Green Buildin!:) Code Issue <br />Scott Robson noted that the adoption of "green" building codes has become a significant <br />issue on the national level and in Colorado. Bodies such as the Boulder County <br />Consortium of Cities and Metro Mayors Caucus have recommended that municipalities <br />encourage or mandate green building codes in the immediate future and LRCAB feels <br />strongly that this is an important issue for Louisville to address. LRCAB Chairman Mark <br />Persichetti explained that the board has spent a significant amount of time educating <br />themselves on a range of local and national green building code programs that may be <br />applicable to Louisville. Contractors from home building companies, counterparts from <br />other jurisdictions, and experts from the renewable energy field were invited to speak at <br />LRCAB meetings this year to suggest potential ways to implement elements of a green <br />building code in Louisville. LRCAB has also held joint meetings with the Board of <br />Appeals to gain insight from their members on the issue.
