<br />ORDINANCE <br /> <br />,/ <br /> <br />(:; <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE "THE MODEL TRAFFIC CODE FOR COLORADO <br />MUNICIPALITIES" 1962 EDITION AS AMI-NDED HEREIN, AND SETTING FORTH PENALTIES <br />FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />THEREWITH. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Pursuant to the authority conferred by Sections 1-8, Article <br />34, Chapter 139, Colorado Revised Statutes 1963, as amended, there is hereby <br />adopted as the traffic ordinance for the Ci ty of Louisville, "The Model Traffic <br />Code for Colorado Municipali ties" wi th the exception of ~*f""bl'i'tl>WltJ:>g section 172 <br />of the Ordinance which is not so adopted and which is deleted. <br /> <br />Section 2. "The Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities" also <br />referred to as "The Model Traffic Ordinance for Colorado Municipali ties" is <br />published by the Colorado Highway Safety Council, for the purpose of providing <br />uniform traffic laws for municipali ties throughout the State of Colorado. The <br />MOdel Ordinance includes crunprehensive provisions covering: A. Rules of the Road, <br />including rules for drivers, pedestrians and operators of bicyclesj B. Enforcement <br />and Violation, including the policing of accidents and other violationsj C. Admin- <br />istration, including the establishment of a traffic violation bureau and traffic <br />administration. It was adopted and approved by the Colorado Highway Safety Council <br />on September 10, 1962. <br /> <br />Section 3. At least three certified copies of the Model Code are on file <br />at the office of the City Clerk and may be inspected during regular business hours. <br />In addition, copies are available for distribution and sale to the public at a <br />price not to exceed $1.00 per copy. <br /> <br />Section 4. The following sections of "The Model Traffic Code for Colorado <br />Municipali ties" are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 79. Bicycle License Applications. Application for every bicycle <br />license and license plate sharI be made upon a form provided by the city and shall <br />be made to the chief of police. A license fee of fifty cents shall be paid to the <br />ci ty clerk before each license is granted. A license shall be good and valid for <br />the calendar year in which it is issued and it must be renewed for each subsequent <br />calendar year. <br /> <br />Section 169. Repeal. Chapter 31 of the Louisville Municipal Code, entitled <br />Traffic and Motor Vehicles, and all other former traffic ordinances of <br />this municipality are hereby repealed, and all ordinances or parts of <br />ordinances in conflict with or inconsistent wi th the provisions of this <br />ordinance are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect <br />or prevent the prosecution or puniShment of any person for any act done <br />or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the <br />taking effect of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 5. That the Model Traffic Ordinance for Colorado Municipali ties <br />is amended by adding subsectiruls to the following Sections: <br />
