Open Space Advisory Board

Meeting Minutes
November 14, 2007
Louisville Public Library
951 Spruce Street
1st Floor Meeting Room
7:00 PM

Call to Order - Chairperson Dave Waldman called the meeting to order at
7:05pm.

Roll Call was taken and the following members were present:

Board Members Present: David Waldman, Tom Davinroy, Truman
Bradley, Kate LeMere, Linda Smith, Ted Kowalski

Board Members Absent: Mikael Anderson and Bret Harper

Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull

Approval of Agenda -
The agenda was approved by all members.

Approval of Meeting Minutes-
The minutes from the September 12th meeting were approved.

Public Comments-
Caryn Greef: Asked the committee to step up prairie dog management on
Daughenbaugh Open Space, which has been severely damaged (again)
by a very large prairie dog colony.
Since the colony exceeds the maximum size under the property
management plan and current reduction methods are not working, the
Board decided to discuss, at the next meeting, a modification to the
Daughenbaugh management plan that would prescribe more effective
prairie dog removal methods.

Art Phelps: Concerned that the trails at Hecla Lake are not going to be
laid out in the correct location with respect to the current topography. In
particular, he is concerned with the grade east of Hecla Drive. He also
recommends a flat rest area with enough room to turn a mobility cart
around and with a bench on the berm of the lake.
Ember has conveyed Art's concerns to Kathy Kron, who is overseeing the

City of Louisville
Parks & Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027
303.335.4735 (phone) 303.335.4738 (fax) www.ci./ouisville.co.us
