City Council <br /> Study Session Summary <br /> May 28, 2013 <br /> Library Meeting Room, 951 Spruce Street <br /> 7:00 PM <br /> The City Council met in a study session at 7:00 p.m. in the 1st Floor Meeting <br /> Room at the Louisville Public Library at 951 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado. <br /> The following persons were present: <br /> City Council Present: Mayor Bob Muckle <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Hank Dalton <br /> Councilmember Emily Jasiak <br /> Council Member Jay Keany <br /> Councilmember Susan Loo <br /> Councilmember Ron Sackett <br /> Councilmember Frost Yamell <br /> Staff Present: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br /> Heather Balser, Deputy City Manager <br /> Kevin Watson, Finance Director <br /> Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City Manager <br /> Call to Order—The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Mayor Muckle <br /> Update/Discussion —City Council 2014 Goals <br /> City Manager Malcolm Fleming started the discussion by describing how goals <br /> were ranked by Staff. The items came from Council Members, Staff and Advisory <br /> Boards. Staff consolidated goals into broad categories. There are many ways to <br /> prioritize and Staff had a large number of goals to prioritize. Councilmember <br /> Dalton discussed goals versus what people would like to see in the budget. <br /> Various ways to rank and prioritize goals were discussed. <br /> Councilmember Keany suggested ranking is a logic process and that discussion <br /> is useful and helps build consensus. <br /> It was agreed that the Comprehensive Plan guides the goals. Goal setting <br /> provides Staff guidance, general direction and areas of focus.
