II Library Board of Trustees Special Meeting Minutes-Approved OCTOBER 16, 2008 Library Board Room, 2nd Floor 951 Spruce Street 6: 30 PM I. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm. II. Roll Call Board members present: · Nisa Bradley · Meredith Davis · Lisa Kahn · Alicia Mahoney · Eileen Patrick · Mary Seifert Library staff members present: · Anne Mojo III. Approval of Agenda The agenda was unanimously approved as written. IV. Public Comments None V. Trustee Informational Comments on Pertinent Items Not on the Agenda With respect to the on-going search for a new Library Director, it was reported that the City had received 18 responses-a low response-but that at least 5 of the candidates on first review seem to possess the characteristics needed to fill the position. The Board of Trustees will pursue contact with Kathleen Hicks and Malcolm Fleming to ask for more direct involvement with the hiring process. Specifically, the Board would like to review resumes, participate in selection decisions, participate in the interview process and participate in the final decision making discussions. VI. Ongoing Business A. Discuss response to Superior Town Board decision on October 14, 2008, and plan any responses that may be necessary and appropriate. The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the recent response from the Town of Superior to the City of Louisville's final request for a financial payment commensurate with cost of serving the Superior library patron base at the Louisville Public Library.
