ORDINANCE NO. 1287 <br />SERIES 1998 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE AND THE LOUISVILLE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT DESIGN <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES TO REQUIRE THAT ALL DEVELOPMENT WITHIN <br />DOWNTOWN LOUISVILLE MEET SPECIFIC OFF-STREET PARKING <br />REQUIREMENTS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, C.R.S. §31-23-301 et seq. authorizes the City to establish zoning districts <br />within the City and to adopt zoning regulations, which regulations shall, among other things, be <br />designed to lessen congestion in the streets and facilitate the adequate provision of public <br />requirements; ,and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is anticipated that future development within Downtown Louisville will <br />increase the demand upon an already limited supply of on- and off-street public parking which <br />serves Downtown Louisville; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is a demonstrated need for additional parking to serve anticipated <br />development within Downtown Louisville; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the above-cited and other authorities, the City desires to address <br />parking requirements for Downtown Louisville; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Downtown Louisville, for the purposes of this ordinance, includes that certain <br />Commercial Community (C-C) zone district and that certain Commercial Business (C-B) zone <br />district of the City which are described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein, and <br />which are depicted on that portion of the official zoning map of the City of Louisville that is <br />attached hereto as Exhibit B and incorporated herein; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interests of the City to require that all <br />future development within Downtown Louisville provide a specific minimum amount of off-street <br />parking. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 17.08 of the Louisville Municipal Code, entitled "Definitions," is <br />hereby amended by the addition of the following definition to be inserted alphabetically into said <br />section: <br /> <br />Downtown Louisville. Downtown Louisville means and includes (1) that certain <br />Commercial Community (C-C) zone district set forth on the official zoning district <br /> <br /> <br />
