But beyond that, I <br />suggest we have some critical decisions facing us with the forthcom- <br />ing elections, nationally, regionally, and certainly locally. Without <br />expounding on my own political beliefs, I would only point out the . <br />dear choices that are ours to make. <br />I have always taken great pleasure in the fact that our citizens <br />are involved in election issues. Percentage wise, Louisville has consistently lead Boulder <br />in year promises to be a provocative and energizing <br />election. With paper ballots and the numerous issues on the ballot, it will mean longer <br />lines and more patience required at the voting booth. I have every confidence that our <br />citizens will uphold our position of leading the County in voting percentages. <br />We will have one local issue on the ballot this year that deserves your attention. As <br />your City Council, we have placed a question on the ballot that, if approved, would <br />1 <br />goal of the program would be to maintain, preserve, and recognize our historic Old <br />Town area and buildings. If authorized, funds would be utilized with an eye toward <br />working with the owners of historic and contributing properties to incentivize them to <br />consider development options consistent with the existing character of the City as we <br />know it. Clearly this will not apply to all properties and should not be viewed as a dra- <br />Continued on page 3 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITIZEN SURVEY RESULTS ARE IN <br /> <br />The survey serves as a report <br />card for the City and permits residents the opportunity to provide feedback <br />on what is working well and what is not. <br />survey results show a vast majority of residents rated most aspects of Lou- <br />isville highly. In addition, the results indicated that a majority of residents value a <br />wide variety of aspects of life in Louisville and services being provided to them by <br />the City. Overall, the results showed positive ratings of most aspects of life in Louis- <br />ville. <br />Here are some of the highlights: <br />y98% of respondents felt Louisville was an "excellent" or "good" place <br />to live. <br />1 % of respondents that the "ease of walking" in town was "excellent" <br />" d" <br />or goo . <br />Y 86% of respondents that recreational opportunities are "excellent" or <br />"good."
