<br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />1045 <br />. ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE HAKING THE POSITION OF CITY <br />TREASURER APPOINTIVE RATHER THAN ELECTIVE IF <br />APPROVED BY THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, AND CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION <br />THEREON. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, state law permits the City Council of the City of <br />Louisville to submit for the approval of the registered electors <br />of Louisville a proposal that the position of City Treasurer be <br />made appointive rather than elective, the appointments to be made <br />by the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the registered <br />electors of Louisville should be given the opportunity to decide <br />whether the position of City Treasurer should be appointive rather <br />than elective. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br />Louisville Code are <br />appear in capital <br />stricken through): <br /> <br />2.24.010 Election - Salary - Bond. <br /> <br />Sections 2.24.010 and 2.36.010.A. of the <br />amended as follows (words proposed to be added <br />letters; words proposed to be deleted are <br /> <br />A. The city treasurer shall receive as full <br />compensation for his services the sum of eighteen <br />hundred dollars per year, payable in monthly <br />payments. <br /> <br />€oB. Before entering upon the duties of his office, the <br />treasurer shall furnish a surety bond to be approved by <br />the council, in the amount of ten thousand dollars, <br />conditioned upon the faithful discharge of his duties as <br />city treasurer and that when he vacates such office he <br />will turn over and deliver to his successor all moneys, <br />books, papers, property, or things belonging to the city <br />and remaining in his charge as such treasurer. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />DENIED this 4th day of June, 1991 <br />
