<br />AD.JOUE-NED ~1EETING <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />APRIL 23, 197(1 <br /> <br />Mayor Waschak called the adjourned meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with <br />the following members present. Domenico, Berry, Scholl, Dhieux, Del- <br />Pizzo, and DiCarlo. City Clerk Santilli was also present. City <br />Administrator Wurl was absent. <br /> <br />REPORT BY DENNIS LUNDBERG <br /> <br />Mr. Lundberg reported that Mr. Bob Davis has submitted his resig- <br />nation and as of May 15, he will not be director of Urban Renewal. <br />From ~ay 15 until June 30, Mr. Davis will do the follow up administrative <br />work required to phase out the second action year. Dave Chenoweth will <br />then be director and given some of the administrative work that he can <br />do and still be the direct line for the rehabilation which will be done. <br /> <br />Rtf. Lundberg stated that they plan on almost doubling the Rehabilation Grants <br />for next year.. This depends on the planning, however, he did not know how the <br />funding was going to be. He stated that he heard the Bureau Budget in Wash- <br />ington has released $270,000,000.00 to a five state region including <br />Colorado. This is money to be spent from July 1 to December 31. The <br />Bureau asked for the Citys imput as to what money we would need. In- <br />stead of a full year program they would go on just a 6 month program. <br />Mr. Lundberg stated that two purposed budgets have been sent in for the <br />City. One was sent with out any land acquisition and the other was <br />sent with land acquisition. The amount to be spent on grants in around <br />$45,000.00. '~'he whole City is eligible for rehabila tion work except <br />for Bella Vista and Circle Drive areas. Mr. Chenoweth would be given <br />the responsibility to spend the money for grants and also for loans at <br />3%. 'i'his information is not yet stable. Mr. Lundberg sta ted that he <br />spoke with Mr. Wurl in regards to contracting with the City an indivi- <br />dual employed by the City to do inspection, etc. if everything goes <br />alright. The administrative cost will going to the City for their <br />assisstance. <br /> <br />Councilman Berry asked what the connection was between LHA and LURA. <br />Mr. Lundberg stated that they were two separate organizations and could <br />survive alone, however in the City the two tie in. LURA rehabilitates <br />the housing unit and LHA accomodates the party who lived in the unit <br />prior to rehab. Both gropus have the authority to purchase land, how- <br />ever, last year HUD did not allow the purchasing of land. <br /> <br />Mr. Lundberg stated that if they can get acquisition rights they <br />would like to purchase 3 pieces of land that are together on Grant Ave. <br />The figured cost would be, figuring in the excess, around 060,000.00. <br />This would be to rebuild the lots. The frontage of the 3 lots is about <br />150'. Councilman Berry stated that if $60,000.00 ~s bsed for that small <br />piece of delapidated property it would be very diffjstlt for people who <br />were looking for a better home to be able to purchar:,~ Of",.
