<br />REGUlAR l'1EETL~G <br /> <br />LOUISVIllE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />t'fARCH 19, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7: 30 P. M. Conncil members present were: Domenico, <br />Berry, Scholl, Dhieux, DelPizzo, and DiCarlo. Others present were City Attorney Morris, <br />City Administrator WUrl and City Clerk Santilli. <br /> <br />ACC&D'fAl'JCE OF HINUTES <br /> <br />Hayor Waschak and Conncil approved the minutes <br />as read. <br /> <br />COERESPONDENCE <br /> <br />Conncihvoman Dhieux moved that the correspondence <br />be accepted and placed nnder the proper head of <br />business. Seconded by Conncilman DiCarlo. ft"JOtion <br />carried. <br /> <br />COUNCIL IT'ti'1S <br />COAL Ct{EEK REPORT <br /> <br />People <br />Payment <br /> <br />Hr. Joseph Madonna reported on the Coal Creek <br />Project. He reported that the engineering study <br />should be canpleted sometime in July. He also <br />stated that nntil the commmity has signed the <br />contract there is nothing binding to any of the <br />ccmm.mities . The importance now is the econcmics, <br />who gets what and vm.o pays for it. Mr. ~1adonna <br />stated that the aIIDnnt of people in every Comp- <br />rehensvie plan figures about 100,000 people. Tll.is <br />many people could not be supported through Coal <br />Creek. The project could support approximately <br />50,080 people. A fonnula which came from the <br />Conservation Board is as follows: <br />Louisville Lafayette Superior Erie <br />20,008 20,000 q,OOO 6,000 <br />4a;~ 4CJ% EfIo 12% <br /> <br />These figures are not definite. Nr. }1adonna <br />stated that the decision of Conncil shoULd be made <br />shortly as to get the econcmic situation worked out. <br />He stated that the land still had to be tested for <br />f:rul ts, etc. <br />M'r. Conarroe asked if the price of the dam was now <br />up to approximately 6 million dollars. Hr. 11adonna <br />stated that he thought the price of the dam was <br />about that aIllOnnt. M'r. }1adonna also said that he <br />did not think the dam could be built for 80,000 <br />people. Mr. r-1adonna asked that Conncil give a <br />statement on the matter at the first part of April. <br />There was no further discussion. <br /> <br />Al1ERICAN LEGION REQUEST <br /> <br />The American Legion requested permission to rroved <br />the Fall Festival from North }1ain St. to the new <br />parking lot at the corner of Spruce and Front <br />Streets. Conncilman DelPizzo moved that the American <br />Legion be granted permission. Seconded by Conncil- <br />man Domenico. Motion carried. <br />
