<br />COlJNCIL MEIo.'TING <br /> <br />MARCH 16, 1971 <br /> <br />"-- <br /> <br />Regular meeting called to order by Mayor Lawrence Caranci. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Following were present Tomeo, King, Berry, <br />Dondelinger, Perrella, Absent Mudrock. <br /> <br />ACCEPTAT,TCE OF MDIUTES: Accepted as presented. <br />. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: None <br /> <br />JOE ~~DO~~A: Read letters in regards to ~egional Service <br />Authority, Hegional Transportation, District <br />and Co~nty Home Rule. <br />Letters sent to .bolllder County Legislators <br />SenatorsLes FO~ller, Hugh Chance, <br />Represenatives Sandy Arrold, Eric Schmidt, <br />Phil Stonebreaker also ~oulder County <br />Commissioners, Letters on file. <br />In regards to County Home Xule Motion by <br />Perrella seconded by ~onqelinger to accept <br />first two steps on Home ~ule and place on <br />General Election ballot, if voting UNo"; <br />they can still vote for the deleg8.tes <br />Three cOi,lncil members voted yes, ]. against. <br />Council concurred with Planning Commission in <br />regards to re-::zoning for apartment,s on the , <br />site between vefferson and Urant streets on <br />Spruce St. Proposed was a three story apart- <br />ment building presently zoned for single <br />residences. Apartments would rent for app- <br />roximately $160. per month and Federal Govern- <br />ment would subsidize one half of the amount. <br />Attorney 110rris said that no publj.c hearing <br />bad been held and no notice of hec:.rings had <br />been posted as required by law. The Planning <br />Commission has hired Vince Porreca. as planning <br />cons'11tant. Voted by Council four to one tc;> <br />reject the zoning change. King st.ated he has <br />an apartment house across from him and he sees <br />nothing wrong. Dondelinger said he might go <br />along with it if the density factor was lower. <br /> <br />POLICE REDORT: Max Sa,lks reported that grant to t.he police <br />Department would be forth comming in three or <br />four weeks. Chief requested purchase of new <br />cruiser. Motion by King seconded:by Berry <br />to order cruiser. Motion carried. <br /> <br />ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA: Tony DelPizzo complabed again about the <br />alley, stated it had been filled with dirt <br />but should have red ash. Also cor.~~ained <br />about the construction papers blowing from <br />construction site. <br />
