walkway. Staff would recommend shifting the walkway to the south slightly to allow for
the planting of two additional evergreen trees to screen the walkway from the loading
area.

The exterior walls of the building are proposed to have an EFIS (synthetic stucco) finish.
Overall building height will be 30' to the top of the entry atrium. The east elevation is
characterized by large, continuous areas of glazing. The glazing will be tinted green.

Planning Commission recommended final approval with the following two conditions:

1. That the PUD shall be amended to indicate that the pedestrian crossing consist of
colored, scored concrete or be painted to alert drivers using the loading dock area to
the presence of the pedestrian crossing.
2. That the landscape plan shall be amended to substitute a variety of trees from the
CDDSG recommended plant list for the Lanceleaf Cottonwood, such that
maintenance needs are reduced and better fall color is provided.

The applicant revised the application and has met both conditions. A recommendation of
approval is forwarded for consideration with the following condition - that the PUD shall
be revised to reflect two additional evergreen trees between the outdoor walkway
connecting Building 9 with the outdoor dining area to screen that walkway from the
cafeteria loading area.

Davidson called for the applicant's presentation.

Tom Wuertz, RNL Design, 1515 Arapahoe, Suite 3-700, Denver, Colorado, explained
that the project before Council tonight is part of the 'great business great places' program.
This is a program to improve the quality of space at StorageTek. He provided a brief
review of the project, including color samples.

Davidson called for Council comments and questions.

Mayer expressed approval of the project. He asked Wuertz whether StorageTek felt the
parking would be adequate for this facility.

Wuertz replied, yes. He explained that StorageTek did a parking survey and compared
the results with the plans showing how the buildings would be used.

Keany commended the applicant on the building. He believes that StorageTek is a good
corporate citizen. However, he expressed concern that there are a number of construction
projects occurring at StorageTek without building permits. He encouraged staff to survey
the StorageTek complex to make sure that all construction projects underway are under
permit and, if not, to stop work.

Sisk asked Wood for the caliper of the additional evergreen trees staff is requesting.

11
