Mulvahill explained the order of the hearing. <br />Fredricksmeyer and Newman delivered their opening statements. <br />Attorney Fredricksmeyer called his first witness. Stephen Robertson, 2410 <br />Waneka Lake Dr., Lafayette, CO entered testimony about a verbal disagreement <br />within the Back Room on the evening in question. A patron had lost his ring and <br />was being rude and loud about trying to find it and moved chairs around to look <br />for the ring. The person who lost his ring, his friends and Mr. Robertson and his <br />friends exchanged words on and off throughout the evening. The bartender told <br />them to calm down a couple of times. Mr. Robert~oJ) said the group of people <br />involved in "the ring incident" left the bar. Later, at closing time, Mr. Robertson <br />left the bar and was assaulted in the parking lot. <br />Attorney Fredricksmeyer then called Ryan Richardson to the witness stand. <br />Ryan Richardson, 578 Fairfield Lane, Louisville, CO testified concerning what <br />went on inside the bar. He also testified he saw Robertson being attacked in the <br />parking lot when he went outside. He attempted to assist Mr. Robertson, was <br />injured and required medical attention. <br />Officer James Castellano of the Louisville Police Department testified while on <br />duty that night he responded to a call to a home in Louisville where he took the <br />statement of Steven Robertson, Ryan Richardson and Jon Travis Rumley about <br />the disturbance in the Back Room. He also hqd them fill out written statements. <br />Office Castellano testified he had written a summons to the party who had lost <br />the ring, later identified as Matthew Stagl, for disorderly conduct due to the <br />incident in the bar. <br />Officer Ricky Blackney of the Louisville Police Department testified he was <br />dispatched to the parking lot of the Back Room that evening to see if a certain <br />vehicle was in the area. He was unable to locate the vehicle and went to The <br />Back Room to talk to the bartender. He spoke to Jennifer Zane, the bartender, <br />about the verbal argument inside the bar earlier in the evening as well as the <br />fight in the parking lot. He also testified about some blood spots he observed <br />outside of the establishment. He reported he had a conversation later with Mr. <br />Newman. <br />Mr. Newman called his first witness to the stand. Peter Clark, 844 Garfield Ave. <br />Louisville, CO, a cook for The Back Room testified to what he witnessed during <br />"the ring incident". <br />Daniel Nikolich, 7626 Depew St., Arvada, CO was called to the stand. He owns <br />amusement machines in The Back Room and was collecting money from them. <br />He testified to witnessing the incident in the establishment. <br />Mr. Newman called Jennifer Zane to the stand. Zane lives at 864 Garfield <br />Avenue in Louisville, CO and was the bartender at The Back Room at the time of <br />this incident. She described what went on in the establishment that evening. <br />
