After the design work is <br />complete, the construction cost can be more closely assessed. <br />Council member Sackett voiced his belief the project should go forward. He <br />asked the Council to be mindful of the construction costs and plan to approve <br />additional funding if necessary. <br />Mayor Sisk asked if the project will go out for bid. Deputy City Manager Boyd <br />stated the process has not been decided. She outlined the process for the <br />Library construction, where contractors were interviewed and then a finalist <br />selected. City Manager Simmons noted the bid process went well for the <br />Police/Court Building. <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Brown moved for approval of additional services <br />proposal with McMenamin Design Associates for City Hall Remodel, seconded <br />by Councilmember Muckle. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a <br />vote of 7-0. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1482, SERIES 2006 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 14.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE <br />HORTICUL TURAL AND FORESTRY ADVISORY BOARD - 1st reading - set <br />public hearing 1/17/06 <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1482, Series 2006. <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Council send Ordinance No. 1482, Series <br />2006 out for publication, and set a public hearing for January 17, 2005. Council <br />member Clabots seconded the motion. All in favor. <br />LIBRARY UPDATE <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd reported on the progress of the new library and noted <br />work continued over the holidays. There were not any construction meetings <br />during the holidays. She stated the building is nearly enclosed now. <br />Mayor Sisk asked if the contractor could attend a Council meeting and update <br />Council on the progress. Deputy City Manager Boyd suggested the Council tour <br />the new library facility. There was Council consensus. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked for the substantial completion date for the new <br />library. Deputy City Manager Boyd stated the date for substantial completion is <br />June 8, 2006. <br />
