City Council Meeting Minutes January 17, 2006 Page 3 of 11 REGULAR BUSINESS COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Mayor Sisk thanked Council for the time they dedicated to interviews and Administrative Assistant Belinda Dogan-Pishner for setting the appointments. City Boards and Commissions were voted on by paper ballots. . Board of Adjustment Appointments: MOTION: Council member Marsella moved an alternate be appointed to the Board of Adjustment, seconded by Council member Yarnell. Mayor Pro Tern Brown offered a friendly amendment that the motion include an alternate be appointed to the Board of Adjustment, subject to an amendment to the municipal code. Council members Marsella and Yarnell accepted the amendment. VOTE: All in favor. . Board of Adjustment Appointments: Three-year terms: Gunnar Malmquist, Bill Cordell; Alternate - Wayne Chancellor. . Building Code Board of Appeals Appointments: Three-year terms: Matt Berry; Rex Olson; and Peter Geise. Alternate Ron LoSasso. . Open Space Advisory Board Appointments: Three-year terms: Thomas Davinroy; David Waldman and Bret Harper. Alternate - Kate LeMere. . Cultural Council Appointments: Four-year terms. MOTION: Council member Muckle moved that Council appoint multiple alternates to the Cultural Council Board, seconded by Council member Marsella. DISCUSSION: Mayor Pro Tem Brown did not support multiple alternates and suggested an expanded Cultural Council Executive Board. Council member Marsella recommended the Cultural Council Board choose members to serve on an executive board. Mayor Sisk supported multiple alternate members. VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 6-1. Mayor Pro Tern Brown voted no. . Cultural Council Appointments: Three-year terms: Lisa Kihn; Julie Kovash; Don Atwood; Ruth Hoar; Alternates - Dana Stahl McNulty and Maryan Jaross.
