<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> February 21, 2006 <br /> Page 8 of 13 <br /> Mayor Sisk reminded the Council and the public this is the first reading of the <br /> ordinance and a public hearing would be set for March 7, 2006. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Peter Stewart, 1132 Jefferson Avenue, Louisville, CO explained the CCTV Board <br /> of Directors have reviewed the Franchise Agreement and has several questions <br /> relative to the provisions which affect public access television. <br /> Susie Mottoshed, 1725 Gillespie Drive, Boulder, CO stated she is a Channel 54 <br /> host and producer of a program, which interviews new authors. She noted the <br /> interns who assist her on the program are two 14-year olds. She asked Council <br /> to consider Channel 54's outreach to the community's young people. <br /> Zoe Monroe, 470 Muirfield Circle, Louisville, CO stressed the importance of <br /> public access in the community. She reported producing a guitar instruction <br /> program for Channel 54. She voiced her concern the City will sign a document <br /> requiring the public access station to close on July 1, and opposed such signing <br /> of an agreement with a company that has not honored their past agreement. <br /> Shauna Barrow, 1123 Lincoln Avenue, Louisville, CO stated she owns a <br /> business at 706 Front Street, and wished to express her support for CCTV. She <br /> asked that Council consider the community's desire for public access TV. <br /> John Bollinger, 143 Salinas Street, Lafayette, CO thanked Council and Comcast <br /> for supporting public access TV. He voiced his appreciation for the one-time <br /> donation, and financial support of public, education and government cable <br /> access. He noted the agreement included a second public access channel, <br /> which would be delayed for six months and questioned why it would be delayed. <br /> Carol Mason, 143 Salinas Street, Louisville, CO stated she is a volunteer at <br /> CCTV. She stressed the importance of free speech, and voiced her appreciation <br /> of Council's work with Comcast. <br /> Ty Gee, 253 Hoover Court, Louisville, CO spoke in support of CCTV and free <br /> speech. He voiced his concern CCTV will be required to move twice and asked <br /> the City to intervene. <br /> MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Ordinance No. 1488, Series 2006 be sent out <br /> for publication and a public hearing be set for March 7, 2006, seconded by Mayor <br /> Pro Tem Brown. All in favor <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked Staff to report on Comcast's past violations. He <br /> stated there is support for public access, and noted there are also other issues. <br />
