Systems Integration is the company that has provided the web-based
security systems for both the Police/Municipal Court Building and Recreation &
Senior Center, and the Library/parking garage system will tie in with those.
Pricing for the system is in accordance with the amounts paid previously for other
City projects. Police Chief Goodman selected the sites for the interior and
exterior of the library building, as well as the underground parking garage. The
building contractor has made arrangements for installation of cable to the camera
locations. Chief Goodman recommended the installation of 21 cameras. Images
from the library's system will be available to the Police Department through the
protected internet system, as well as to Library staff on desktop computers. Staff
requested one additional camera, bringing the total to 22.
Funding for the security system was included in the original library project
budget, and will be paid from that account. Staff recommends awarding the
contract for purchase and installation of the library security camera system to
Systems Integration Corp. in the amount of $28,552.00.
