<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> July 18, 2006 <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br />City Attorney Light noted if Council chooses to move forward with one or more <br />ballot issues for the November election, the County Clerk must by notified by July <br />25. Council must direct the City Clerk to proceed with the notification process. <br />Next, a resolution must be approved to call for a special election, and define the <br />ballot style. Finally, the election question must be certified by August 15. <br />Council member Muckle asked if there is any in the cost of an election for one <br />ballot question versus two. City Attorney Light stated the County will charge for <br />the Tabor notices in addition to the election. City Clerk Varra stated the cost of <br />the election would be relatively the same, whether there is one or two ballot <br />questions. <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Brown moved the Council direct the City Clerk to <br />proceed with notification to the County Clerk the City of Louisville will participate <br />in the November 7,2006 election, seconded by Council member Sacket. All in <br />favor. Absent: Council member Marsella <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Brown moved the Council direct the City Attorney to <br />prepare a resolution combining both use tax questions into one ballot question to <br />be brought back for the August 1, 2006 City Council meeting, seconded by <br />Council member Clabots. All in favor. Absent: Council member Marsella. <br />MOTION: Council member Yarnell moved to table Resolutions No. 29 and 30, <br />Series 2006, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Brown. All in favor. Absent: Council <br />member Marella. <br />City Manager Simmons reported 58% of the votes cast in the 2005 Use Tax <br />ballot question were against the measure. <br /> LIBRARY UPDATE <br />City Manager Simmons reported the library construction and the move into the <br />new facility are all on schedule. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />No items to report. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Simmons reported on the Planning Commission's review of the <br />Urban Renewal Area; the Skate Park closure for repairs; and the two dog off- <br />lease areas in Louisville; one at Community Park and a second at the Davidson <br />Mesa open space. <br />
