Recreation Advisory Board Minutes March 17, 2025 Page 5of5 Board Updates • 2025 City Council Presentation (to be presented to City Council April 8) Lisa met with Deb Fahey. Lisa shared a draft of RAB's proposed presentation slides to City Council on April 8th with the RAB board. Dick: let's focus on drafting bullets with RAB's highest priorities. Michele: suggest adding more priorities. We should acknowledge RAB CIPs that Council supported/funded. Kathy: I could get a list of these projects. The RAB agreed to leave the slide blank on alignment with Recreation/Golf Departmental Work Plan. Dick: can we provide hard copies to allow them to review RAB's spreadsheet? Kathy: RAB could consider skate park enhancements for novice youth use. Dan: can we add infrastructure for consideration in the Comp Plan? We also need to know that City Council is making a good faith effort to consider the RAB's input. Lisa: we can also include the Golf Course strategic plan and the clubhouse feasibility study. Dick: could we ask to meet with the new City Manager? Kathy: yes. Lisa: this may be premature since she will be starting just before April 8th • Outdoor Rec Amenities Update Lisa: Dick and I met with Julian and Gene. Kathy: the RAB may need a champion to get City Council to commit to a new golf clubhouse. Who on Council could serve this role? • 2026 Budget Requests due to City Council on May 1st Lisa: we will draft a memo for the May 1st meeting and should address the increased demand for youth sports.
