Ensure new development aligns with the Vision, Goals, and Strategies of <br />the Comprehensive Plan. <br />NE.2. Value and enhance the unique character of both new and established <br />neighborhoods, emphasizing appropriate scale, size, aesthetics, and land uses. <br />NE.3. Update development code and design standards to address the policies of <br />this Plan. <br />Housing Diversification Goals (HD) <br />Housing Diversification advances the City's recently adopted Housing Plan to <br />diversify and increase Louisville's housing supply at appropriate locations. <br />HD.1. Increase the supply and diversity of housing. <br />HD.2. Initiate zoning code changes to address the effectiveness of existing <br />regulations and identify barriers to housing development. <br />HD.3. Offer a diverse range of housing types to accommodate the needs of all <br />families, individuals, and seniors. Ensure access to affordable housing options for <br />residents of all income levels and age groups. <br />Development Opportunity Areas Goals (DO) <br />Development Opportunity Areas promote dynamic redevelopment in key areas <br />that support mixed -use activity, housing diversity, pedestrian -friendly design, <br />public spaces, and catalysts for redevelopment in areas of opportunity. <br />DO.1. Area 1: South Boulder Road Corridor- Explore opportunities for infill <br />development to support the evolution of South Boulder Road to a mixed -use <br />corridor. <br />DO.2. Area 2: Downtown Louisville- Continue the transformation of downtown <br />into a walkable, active, and family -friendly hub that compliments Louisville's <br />history. <br />DO.3. Area 3- McCaslin Boulevard Corridor: Support the vitality of the McCaslin <br />Boulevard Corridor as the city's primary shopping destination. <br />DO.4.
