<br />Section 5 .1 OFFICIAL HOLIDAYS cont.: <br />Floating holidays must have two ( 2 ) weeks prior approval by <br />the Department Head. <br />In addition to the above, any day may be designated a holiday <br />by the Mayor. <br />Section 5 . 3 LEAVE OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY <br />All permanent employees, whether part-time or full-time are <br />el igible for leave of absence without pay as defened herein. <br />A Department Head may at his discretion, grant short term <br />leaves of absence without pay up to eleven ( 11 ) consecutive <br />working days to an employee for purposes specified herein. <br />Long term leaves of absence without pay beyond eleven ( 11 ) <br />working days bu t no more than sixty-three ( 63 ) consecutive <br />working days (three months) total may be granted only upon <br />approval of the City Administrator. Failure to return to <br />work at the end of the authorized long term leave of absence <br />without pay will result in an automatic termination of employ- <br />ment. Leaves of absence without pay shall be granted with <br />assurance of reinstatement to the same pay grade. Leaves of <br />absence may be granted for the following purposes: <br /> a. Military <br /> b. New Child Care <br /> c . Prolonged Illness <br /> d. Special Situations <br /> e . Disability <br />Section 5.7 VACATION <br />e. The maximum amount of vacation hours which an employee can <br /> carryover at the end of each calendar year i s as follows: <br /> Years of Em p 1 0 ym en t Carryover Vacation Hours <br /> 1 - 5 120 <br /> 6 - 10 160 <br /> 11 - 15 200 <br /> 16 - 20 240 <br /> 21 - 25 280 <br /> ~6 - 30 320 <br /> 31 - 360 <br />
