during budget negotiations, it was agreed that, should money become available this year, <br />the very next priority was to install the lights at the tennis courts. He expressed support <br />for the request. <br /> <br />Howard thanked Jon Buri and the Centennial Valley Tennis Association for their <br />patience. He commended them for approaching Council in a forthright manner each year <br />with this request. He expressed support for the request, as it would benefit the residents <br />of Louisville and the Centennial Valley Tennis Association. <br /> <br />Mayer questioned why this project wasn't included in last year's budget and stated that <br />he had asked that it be included. He stated that the initial price for the project was <br />estimated at $80,000 and asked why the price is now much lower. <br /> <br />Baysinger replied that he was uncertain for the fluctuation in pricing. He stated that he <br />obtained pricing information directly from the vendors last week. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that, had Council obtained an accurate price, this project could have been <br />funded before. <br /> <br />Baysinger replied that the previous prices were obtained in the same manner, therefore, <br />he felt that they were accurate for that time. <br /> <br />Mayer reminded Baysinger that last year's price quote was $80,000. <br /> <br />Baysinger agreed with Mayer and stated that the current prices reflect quotes obtained <br />last week. <br /> <br />Keany asked Baysinger for clarification that the lights would be controlled from inside <br />the Recreation Center. <br /> <br />Baysinger replied, no. However, he explained that there are several options, such as <br />placing the lights on sensors, on coin-operated timers, or allow them to be manually <br />operated at the tennis courts. He recommended that Council consider coin-operated <br />timers, possibly charging a quarter for their use, as this would result in the lights only <br />being on when in use. <br /> <br />Keany agreed with Baysinger. He expressed concern that the lights not be on after a set <br />time in the evening. <br /> <br />Baysinger agreed with Keany and explained that a curfew of ten o'clock or ten-thirty has <br />been suggested. <br /> <br />Keany asked for clarification that there would be a master cut-off switch inside the <br />Recreation Center to cut the lights at a pre-determined time. <br /> <br /> <br />
