ORDINANCE NO. 1306, SERIES 1999 - AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE
WATER TAP FEES IN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO - 1s~'
READING - SET PUBLIC HEARING 8/3/99

Davidson called for City Attorney introduction.

Sam Light, City Attorney, read by title only, Ordinance No. 1306, Series 1999 - An
Ordinance Increasing The Water Tap Fees In The City Of Louisville, Colorado.

Sisk moved that Council set Ordinance No. 1306, Series 1999 - An Ordinance Increasing
The Water Tap Fees In The City Of Louisville, Colorado out for publication and set the
public hearing for 8/3/99, seconded by Howard. All in favor.

DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - PROPOSED 2000 GOALS

Davidson called for staff presentation.

Bill Simmons, City Administrator, explained that this is a follow-up to the last Council
work session. He stated that staff has prepared a draft set of goals for Council's review
and consideration for prioritization. He distributed a revised set of goals, as the Library
goals had been inadvertently omitted. Specifically, the additions are to increase Library
book purchases by ten percent, add a Library protection system for $38,000. He asked for
clarification on rating the goal for additional floor area for the Library by remodeling the
east portion of the existing meeting room.

Davidson called for Council comments and questions.

Keany stated that the draft policies include establishing a task force to update the Open
Space/Parks/Trails Master Plan and the new or revised programs include developing a
Youth Task Force. He questioned whether one of these items should be moved, or
whether Council wants to develop two different task forces on two different levels of
goals.

Davidson suggested that both task forces be included in policies and in new or revised
programs.

Howard agreed with Davidson.

Simmons apologized and stated that his notes were that staff should investigate a youth
task force.

Keany replied that staff was directed to develop or form a youth task force.

Sisk agreed with Keany.

5
