COUNCIL COMMUNICATION <br />TO: FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />FROM: MALCOLM FLEMING, CITY MANAGER <br />DATE: APRIL 19, 2011 <br />SUBJECT: ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION ON FEES IN MUNICPAL CODE <br />ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br />SUMMARY: <br />Currently many fees charged for city services are imbedded within the Louisville <br />Municipal Code (Code). The City Manager desires to remove as many of the specific fees as <br />possible from the Code and concurrently place them without any change within an authorizing <br />resolution. <br />The reason for this action is to simplify fee review and to consolidate fees in one location. Staff <br />then should be able to establish regular review of these fees for consistency with the cost of the <br />service provided. The action also can facilitate public access and review of. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />: Direction to staff on the attached ordinance and resolution, including <br />Exhibit A. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Ordinance <br /> Resolution with Exhibit A <br />SUBJECT AGENDA ITEM <br /> <br />
