City Council
Meeting Minutes
April 5, 2011
SUPERIOR TO PROVIDE FOR INSTALLATION OF A BOOK DROP IN SUPERIOR
TOWN HALL
Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation.
Library Director Barrett explained the residents of Superior check out approximately
20% of all materials from the Louisville Library. Superior residents requested a book
drop be installed in Superior to allow easier return of materials to the Library. The
Louisville Library Board of Trustees and Library staff considered the issues involved in
such an installation at the Board's January 13, 2011 meeting. Since then, Superior and
Louisville Public Library staff met to work out details of a plan that would allow for
placing a book drop inside Superior Town Hall, with daily deliveries of retumed
materials to the Library. The plan includes the following provisions:
The City of Louisville would purchase the book drop and accompanying cart and
plastic totes.
The Town of Superior would install and maintain the book drop in the airlock
entryway to Town Hall. Library items could be returned there Monday through
Friday from 8:00 AM 5„00 PM.
Staff from the Town of Superior would deliver returned material daily to the
Louisville Public Library.
There will be no weekend or holiday deliveries.
The proposed amendments to the IGA reflect these provisions.
COUNCIL COMMENTS
Councilor Sackett stated the amendment is an improvement to the agreement. Mayor
Sisk recognized the efforts of the Superior Board of Trustees, Councilor Dalton and
Library Director Barrett. Councilor Dalton voiced his appreciation for the Superior Board
of Trustees and Town of Superior Staff.
MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved to approve Resolution No. 19, Series 2011,
seconded by Councilor Dalton. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote
of 7 -0.
RESOLUTION No. 20, SERIES 2011 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A
THREE (3) YEAR EXTENSION OF THE EXPIRATION OF THE FINAL PLANNED
UNIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR LOTS 9 -12, BLOCK 1, LOUISVILLE OLD TOWN
(940 MAIN ST), FROM JUNE 5, 2011 TO JUNE 5, 2014
Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation.
Planning Director Russ explained the applicant has requested a three year extension of
the expiration of a final planned unit development (PUD) plan for 940 Main Street.
