City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> May 3, 2011 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> City Manager Fleming reported on steps taken to address the drainage problems on the <br /> Goodhue Ditch/West Elm neighborhood. The City and the Goodhue Ditch Company <br /> both contributed $10,000 to line the ditch with concrete. During the preparation process <br /> the contractor found and plugged holes in the ditch that in the past may have <br /> contributed to groundwater in the area. The City and the Goodhue Ditch Company will <br /> continue to monitor the situation. He thanked the neighbors for working with the City <br /> and the Goodhue Ditch Company. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> PROCLAMATION OLDER AMERICANS MONTH <br /> Mayor Sisk read the proclamation, which proclaimed May as Older Americans Month. <br /> "Older Americans: Connecting the Community" is the theme for Older Americans Month <br /> for 2011. Mayor Sisk presented the proclamation to the following members of the Senior <br /> Advisory Board: Joe DeSouza, Carol Purfurst, Larry Brassem, Connie Howes, and AAC <br /> Representative Debby Fahey. Senior Services Supervisor Katie Beasley was also <br /> present. <br /> Senior Advisory Board Chairperson Carol Purfurst accepted the proclamation and <br /> thanked the Council for recognizing Louisville's senior citizens. <br /> PROCLAMATION PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK <br /> City Manager Fleming explained Public Service Recognition Week is in honor of public <br /> employees at the federal, state, county and city levels dedication to the ideals of <br /> democracy. The dedicated City of Louisville employees work day in and day out as <br /> humble stewards of the organization's resources to serve the citizens in our community <br /> to improve and support our quality of life we enjoy and who support the internal <br /> infrastructure to get the right things accomplished for the community. <br /> Mayor Sisk read the proclamation proclaiming week of May 1 through 7 as Public <br /> Service Recognition Week. He presented the proclamation to City Manager Fleming. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 26, SERIES 2011 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SPECIAL <br /> REVIEW USE AMENDMENT TO ALLOW FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE EXISTING <br /> OUTDOOR PATIO SEATING AREA FOR THE EXISTING RESTAURANT AND <br /> PROVIDING A NEW OUTDOOR PATIO AND SEATING AREA FOR A NEW <br /> RESTAURANT AT 701 MAIN STREET <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Planning Director Russ explained the applicants, Chad Sholders of the Cactus Wheel <br /> and Josh Karp of Lulu's Barbeque, request approval of an SRU Amendment for 701 <br />
