<br /> 4 E-3. COMPENSA'I'ORY TIME. Compensatory time shall be <br /> taken on a one-half straight time basis only. No compensatory time will <br /> accrue after 24 hours have accrued on the records of an employee. <br /> Compensatory time shall be allowed only for employees-of-a-classifi- <br /> cation of 11 and above on !:he classification plan. ,- - <br /> 4 E-5. RECORD KEEPING: The Department Heads shall explain <br /> to the employees under their supervision the implications of the rules <br /> pertaining to overtime. It: must be clear that all overtime work must <br /> be authorized, documented by the employee, approved by the Department <br /> Head and submitted to the City Administrator for approval with the <br /> payroll sheets of payroll t:ime. Record of overtime work should be <br /> kept by the finance department and all overtime records shall be <br /> kept for two years. <br /> The City Council will not tolerate any abuses of the <br /> payment for overtime and use of compensatory time and in the event <br /> that in certain departments: excesses beyond reasonability occur, both <br /> the Department Head and the~ employee will be interviewed to correct <br /> the situation. <br /> 4 H-l. PAY FOR EMPLOYEES ON TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT: The <br /> City Administrator and Depa.rtment Heads, as applicable, may appoint <br /> acting employees. Employees in an actingposition shall be compen- <br /> sated at a rate of pay consistentwith the duties and responsibilities <br /> of the position. A personnel action form must be approved by the <br /> City Administrator prior to the employee beginning work as an acting <br /> employee. <br /> 4 H-3, PAY RATES IN DEMOTION: If an employee is demoted, <br /> his rate of pay for the ne~'position shall remain the same or be <br /> adjusted to a lower step which shall be determined as the most <br /> feasible by the Department Head and City Administrator. <br /> 4 1-2. IN CASE OF DISMISSAL: An employee who has been <br /> dismissed in accordance wit:h the Personnel Rules and Regulations <br /> shall be paid any wages due as soon as practicable after the amount <br /> is certified to the office of the City Administrator by his Depart- <br /> ment Head, together with any unused earned vacation. <br /> 4 1-5. INSURANCE: Any insurance carried by the City will <br /> be cancelled in accordance with the applicable insurance policy, <br /> however, the City shall have no obligation to provide any insurance <br /> after the termination of an~employee. - <br /> CHAPTER V <br /> EMPI,OYEE FRINGE BENEFITS <br /> 5 B-2, FULL TIME STATUS: An employee, including Department <br /> Heads and City Administratc~, who is working on a full time <br /> ( a) Twelve paid official holidays. <br /> (b) Twelve days cumulative sick leave per year. <br /> (c) Vacation: as outlined in section 5 E-4. <br /> (d) Membership in the group hospital and medical <br /> plan. <br /> (e) Membership in the disability income plan, <br /> and accident plan. <br /> (f) Coverage under social security. <br /> ( g) Membership in the group life insurance plan. <br /> - 3 - <br />
