Maternity leave. <br />5 E-l. SICK LEAVE: <br />-- --- <br /> <br />h. Absences due to illness of an immediate <br />family member requiring the close personal <br />attention of the employee wlll be subtracted <br />from accumulated sick leave or accrued <br />vacation at the discretion of the employee. <br />Immediate family shall include spouse, <br />paren~, and children of the employee. <br /> <br />5 E-2. EMERGENCY LEAVE: Request for emergency leave must <br />be approved by the Depart~ment Head. Each employee shall be allowed <br />three (3) days emergency leave to attend funerals in the immediate <br />family, for unexpected emergencies, or in other instances, not <br />including illness, as approved by the City Administrator, not to be <br />charged against the employee's sick leave. <br /> <br />5 E-3. HOLIDAY LEAVE: <br />------ -- <br /> <br />i. General election day and general local <br />el~~ction day. - - <br /> <br />5 E-4. VACATION LEAVE. Requests for vacation must be <br />discussed with the Department Head well in advance of an employee's <br />vacation time in order to permit proper scheduling of work within a <br />department. All employees must get the approval of the Department <br />Head at least two weeks in advance of their intended vacation. <br /> <br />a. During the first five years of employment, <br />full time employees shall earn ten working <br />days paid vacation annually. Beginning the <br />sixth year of continuous full time service <br />~full time employee shall earn paid vacation <br />annually as follows: <br /> <br />YEARS OF CONTINUOUS VACATION DAYS ALLO\^lED <br />FULL TU1E SERVICE <br /> <br />b 11 vacation days <br />7 12 vacation days <br />8 13 vacation days <br />9 14 vacation days <br />10 15 vacation days <br />12 16 vacation days <br />14 17 vacation days <br />16 18 vacation days <br />18 19 vacation days <br />20 20 vacation days <br /> <br />Beginning the 20th year of continuous full <br />time service, full time employees shall earn <br />20 working days of paid vacation annually. <br />Part-time employees shall earn one-half of <br />the number of working days paid vacation <br />annually as full time employees. <br /> <br />b. Full time and part-time employees who have <br />not completed six consecutive months of <br />service are entitled to payment for any <br />unused vacation leave if they are separated <br />during this period. <br /> <br /> <br />-5- <br />
