<br /> . - <br /> c. A PE~rsonnel Action Form shall show the date <br /> of separation as the last day worked and <br /> shall show the number of unused vacation <br /> days to be paid. <br /> d. An l~mployee may use the vacation time he <br /> has earned to the date of his vacation. <br /> e. Employees are encouraged to take their <br /> earned vacation each year. The maximum <br /> amount of vacation time which an employee <br /> shall be allowed to accumulate is as <br /> follows: Through the employee's tenth <br /> year of employment - 15 days; from the <br /> employee's eleventh year on through the <br /> employee's twentieth year of employment - <br /> 20 days; from the twentieth year on - <br /> 25 days. <br /> f. Each Department Head shall keep necessary <br /> records of vacation leave allowances and <br /> shall schedule vacation leaves with parti- <br /> cular regard to seniority of employees and <br /> to accord with operating requirements, and <br /> insofar as possible, with the written <br /> requests of the employees. <br /> g. A,ll vacation time must be taken in at least <br /> one-half day (four hour increments) . Only <br /> scheduled working days are counted as vacation. <br /> h. Police personnel shall be credited with <br /> a,ddi tional vacation allowance, in lieu of <br /> holidays worked, at the end of the month in <br /> ~rhich the holiday occurred. Pay will be based <br /> on current salary. <br /> i. ~'here shall be no equivalent in money paid <br /> Jor vacation leave of an employee. <br /> j . If a regular city holiday shall occur during <br /> t:he per iod of an'.'employee I s vaca tion, he <br /> shall not be charged a vacation day. <br /> k. Hhen an employee is on sick leave he will <br /> accumulate vacation time until such time his <br /> sick leave has been exhausted, provided, <br /> however, said employee has accumulated a <br /> minimum of 12 days sick leave. <br /> 5 E- 5 . LEAVE OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY: All permanent <br /> employees, whether part-lime or full time, are eligible for leave 0 f <br /> absence without pay as definedherein. A Department Head with approval <br /> of the City Administrator may, at his discretion, grant short term <br /> leaves of absence without, pay up to 11 consecutive working days to <br /> an employee for purposes specified herein. Long term leaves of <br /> absence without pay beyond 11 working days but no more than 63 <br /> consecutive working days (t:hree months) total may be granted only <br /> upon approval of the City Council. Failure to return to work at <br /> the end of the authorized long term leave of absence without pay will <br /> result in an automatic tE~rmination of employment. Leaves of absence <br /> without pay shall be granted with assurance of reinstatement to the <br /> same pay grade. Leaves of absence may be granted for the following <br /> purposes: <br /> a. 1l.1ili tary <br /> b. PrE~gnancy <br /> c. Prolonged illness <br /> d. Special situations <br /> -6- <br /> . <br />
