<br />ARTICLE VI
<br />NON-DISCRIMINATION
<br />Section 1 General.
<br />It is the policy of the Commissionthat neither the institution nor any
<br />staff member, volunteer or contractor with the Commissionshall discriminate against
<br />any individual on the basis of age, race, color, national origin, citizenship, ancestry,
<br />religion, creed, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, marital status,
<br />military status, age over 40 years, genetic information, or the existence of any sensory,
<br />mental or physical handicapin the administration or delivery of programs and services.
<br />Section 2. Program Participation Non-Discrimination.
<br />The Commissionencourages
<br />participation in all its activities, services, and granting programs by individuals of all
<br />cultural, ethnic, geographic, sexual orientation, and religious background and fully
<br />complies with the American with Disabilities Act.
<br />ARTICLE VII
<br />NON-PROFIT STATUS
<br />Section 1 General.
<br />The Louisville Historical Commissionis organized by the City
<br />Council of the City of Louisville, Colorado, to operate as a nonprofit organization for
<br />charitable, educational, cultural, and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section
<br />501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding provisions of any future
<br />federal Internal Revenue Code law, to promote public awareness of the history of
<br />Louisville, Colorado.
<br />Section 2 Contributions
<br />–Consistent with these purposes, the Commission
<br />may promote, solicit, and encourage contributions from community organizations, both
<br />public and private,including grants from corporations or individuals, of monies, personal
<br />and real property, and other objects or items of value, by donation, dedication, grant,
<br />gift, devise, or otherwise, which contributions might be beneficially devoted to the public
<br />use for the purpose set forth in the Commission’s Articles of Incorporationor these
<br />Bylaws. All funds received by the Commissionshall be deemed entrusted by the People
<br />of the City of Louisville, Colorado, for the use and benefit of the Louisville Historical
<br />Commission.
<br />Section 3 Limitations
<br />–No part of the net earnings of the Commission or any
<br />assets of the Commission or donations to the Commission shall inure to the benefit of,
<br />or be distributable to, its members, trustees, officers, or other private persons, except
<br />that the Commission is authorized to pay or reimburse members and officers for
<br />authorized expenses actually incurred in the performance of the duties of office. The
<br />Commission is authorized to make distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt
<br />organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the
<br />corresponding provisions of any future federal Internal Revenue Code law. No
<br />substantial part of the activities of the Commission shall be the carrying on of
