Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />June 8, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> CCTV edits to the contract have been completed, and the <br />City has agreed to proceed with the Introduction once the <br />contract is delivered. <br /> Coyote Presentation was given at the Seniors Center during <br />their lunch. <br /> Moving forward on hiring a consultant to analyze <br />improvements to Hecla Reservoir. <br /> Ditch companies have cleaned their ditches, so City truck <br />will be active to clear the areas with debris.Additionally, the <br />stock pond at Warembourg will be filled now that the ditches <br />are flowing. <br /> A pair of Cooper’s Hawks are nesting at Warembourg. The <br />mating pair is interesting because the male still has juvenile <br />plumage. <br /> Ember will be meeting with volunteers interested in doing <br />coyote hazing. Location TBD. <br /> Prairie dog management will begin in the first part of July. <br />The goal is to limit populations in all of the communities. <br />There will be additional treatments later in the fall. <br />VII. Board Update <br /> David announced that he will be moving out of Louisville and will <br />o <br />have to resign. <br /> Helen gave an update about the geocaching project. <br />o <br /> There will be two aspects: (1) using the technology to look <br />for the cache and (2) encouraging the public to observe, <br />record and learn the open space around them. <br /> Ember pointed out that a lot of the information is related to <br />the prairie ecosystem, which will be applicable to many open <br />spaces in the city. <br /> Weed Whackers will meet at 6:30pm at Dutch Creek on Friday, <br />o <br />June 10. <br /> Justin attended a Business Retention and Development meeting. <br />o <br />He wanted to applaud the efforts of staff to enhance trail <br />connectivity in the City. <br /> The Friends of Louisville group on Facebook has been posting <br />o <br />announcements about meetings and other public programs. <br />VIII. Discussion Item & Recommendation: McCaslin Blvd. & Washington <br />Ave. Intersection Pedestrian/Bicycle Crossing Alternative Analysis <br /> Troy gave a presentation of the alternatives. The purpose of the <br />o <br />presentation is to get OSAB feedback on the alternatives. OSAB <br />heard the same presentation offered to the public earlier this <br />month. <br /> <br />
