Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 14, 2011 <br />Page 7 of 13 <br /> <br />O’Connell asked if the five (5) parking spaces are private or public. <br />Russ stated they are private. <br />Russell asked if the alley is one-way or two-way. <br />Russ stated it is a two-way alley. <br />Russell asked how wide an alley has to be and how wide is this one. <br />Russ stated a standard alley is 20’, while this one is 15’. <br />Pritchard asked if there had been any complaints about the 12 AM closing time <br />for the patios. <br />Russ stated the original closing time was 9 PM but has since gone to a 12 PM <br />closing time. There have been no complaints. <br />Lipton asked if the Cactus Wheel had any signs. <br />Russ stated they had no signs. <br />Lipton asked if there was a sign plan in place. <br />Russ stated any signage for the site will need to follow the Downtown Sign <br />program. <br />Sheets asked what type of surface is required for the rear patio area. <br />Russ stated the rear patio area will be crusher fines. Crusher fines are a <br />pervious surface and will allow for seepage. <br />Applicant Presentation: <br />Chad Sholders, applicant, discussed the following: <br />Benefits of the SRU <br /> <br /> <br />st <br />Garden Art is proposed for the 1 Friday Art Walks in Louisville <br /> <br /> <br />Bike parking is still in the planning stage – trying to figure out where to <br /> <br /> <br />place it and would like to have more than two (2) spaces. <br />The 12 AM closure time creates a concern as to where to put the patrons <br /> <br /> <br />after closing the patio. He also asked why it had to be a condition since it <br />is part of the LMC. <br />Signs are still being worked on but they will follow the downtown sign <br /> <br /> <br />guidelines. <br />Commission questions of Applicant: <br />O’Connell asked what closing time they would like to have. <br />Sholders stated 2 AM, especially since they have received no complaints. <br />Pritchard asked what steps the owners would take to ask to change usage hours. <br />Russ stated he would suggest the DBA be contacted and have them take the <br />request up the ladder to Council to modify the SRU requirements. <br />Lipton asked if no change to the LMC what is the time for closure. <br /> <br />
