Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
DATE
7) G. Lawncrest, 144 S. Carter Ct. - Cost of demolition $10,000 before
replanting $3-5,000 to replant. Resurface - $4-5,000 per court if court is
in good shape. This could not be done here. Total replacement of slab
in excess of $40,000 - $50,000 minimum. $20-30,000 for a floating slab.
No facilities budgeted for this site.

David - court shortage in Louisville. Ted: not proponent of OSAB involvement in
this decision. Truman: does not feel this is a necessary addition to open space.
Tom: liability to City by having a mal-maintained court. David - cited example of
another community court that went through the same decision - found a way to
update the court for less expense than demolition cost. David will provide Scott
with information on this project during the week.

Staff Updates:
Scott: update on dog waste clean-up at Davidson Mesa and the Dog Park.
Private company adoption; they will supply City with dog waste bags for the next
year with company name on it. They will adopt dog parks for small fee and every
other month will clean up waste, alternate months they will do the clean-up free
of charge.

Mikael suggested additional trash cans at Davidson Mesa closer to the west end
of the off-leash area.

David concerned about exposure of clean-up; people may assume that they no
longer have to pick up.

Scott facilitated the orientation for the OSAB 2007.

2007 Projects
. Re-vegetation and weed control
. Prairie dog management
. Eliminate encroachments and rehab where necessary
. Trails
. Youth Corps
. Create Open Space Zoning Classification
. Continue analysis of new land acquisition opportunities
. Work with Planning Department and potential developers to ensure appropriate
public land dedications.
. Increase utilization of "adopt-a-trail and open space" program.
. As a follow-up, Scott will send a copy of the slide discussing open space
management.
