The contractor chosen also historically performs mowing of some open
space boundaries and applies herbicides as needed during spring and summer
months. TruGreen Landcare has served as the City landscape maintenance
contractor for three years. Their contract expired in December 2006.

The Land Management Depalrtment worked with the Louisville Horticulture and
Forestry Advisory Board (HFAB) to revise the maintenance specifications in an
effort to reduce the use of herbicides and fertilizers, reduce overall mowing, and
potentially reduce irrigation. The budget for contracted landscape maintenance
was also reduced by $10,000 to address citywide budget issues.

An Invitation to Bid was published in the Daily Camera and seven bids were
received. The low bid of $131,610 was submitted by CoCa!. The Land
Management budget for landscape maintenance services is $165,824.
